I had the privilege of trying Chia seeds for the first time a few days ago in a smoothie at a coffee shop. The texture of the chia seeds resembles that of gel with a crunchy effect when chewed. For me, it’s not off-putting or unpleasant at all, and my husband surprised me with a packet of Chia seeds from Dischem. I soaked the seeds overnight in boiled water, and the next morning, it had a gel-like texture as shown in the photo below:

I combined the Chia seeds with my All Bran Flakes and milk, and ate it like that. It was enjoyable and made me feel full more quickly than All Bran Flakes typically do. Below is the photo of how it looks in the All Bran Flakes:

The reason for this blog post is the fact that not everyone is familiar with these types of seeds and hasn’t tried them yet. The nutrients in these seeds are a lot, and for people who don’t eat fish, Chia seeds contain the Omega 3 that we need. They also contain Phosphorus, Magnesium, antioxidants (selenium), Copper, Iron, and Calcium. Additionally, they contain fiber, which aids in having a regular bowl movement and good microbiome health. They also lower blood sugar, reduce blood pressure, and increase fiber intake in your diet.
Feel free to try Chia Seeds in yogurt, porridge (oats, All Bran Flakes, Weetbix, etc.), smoothies, and shakes. It’s a seed with a lot of value.
