Keep the chills away on a cold day

When there’s a rainy day or in the Winter months, all you want to do is cuddle up in bed with warm soft socks on your feet, underneath a soft blanket with a book or TV series of your choice. But what if I told you that there’s another way you can warm up?

Many people don’t like the taste of ginger because of it’s strong taste but in a 2018 issue of Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine, scientists found that ginger actually increase the body’s temperature. Reason being, ginger increase blow flow in the body and that’s why you feel warmer after consuming ginger.

So what if you don’t like ginger but want this benefit on a cold day?

Here are some ways you can take ginger, either fresh, dried or from your spice bottle bought at your local supermarket:

– Add a dash to your cup of coffee.

– Have some oatmeal in the morning with a sprinkle of ginger.

– Try some in your favorite curry dish.

– Have a ginger cookie or two 😉

– Maybe non-alcoholic eggnog with some ginger?
