Something many of us like. We like the taste of it and we like it over pancakes, in our tea or over our favorite morning cereal.
Honey has a lot of health benefits.
When we look at raw honey, we know that this honey comes straight from the honey hive and is unprocessed. Nothing has been done to the honey and this saves the fact that the enzymes found in honey, aren’t harmful in any way. These enzymes in raw honey help with digestion which helps with the breakdown of food.

Raw honey isn’t the only product we find in stores today. Here is another honey I bought at a different store. As you can see, on this bottle of honey there are words “Irradiated”.

This means that this product has been heated for the reason to pasteurize it. One reason for this is, that when the product is from outside a country, it needs to be pasteurized to kill any bacteria and diseases. In this process, the natural enzymes that were found in the living honey product are now dead. This means you do not get the benefits from the honey anymore, only the taste.
Now I know that some buy the honey because they like the taste and for many of us, the honey we find in normal grocery stores here in South Africa is already expensive but if you can, buy the product that says “raw honey” if your reason is to use the honey for health benefits. It’s not and purely because you like the honey taste, then buy any kind you wish.
It’s sad to know that there are products on our shelves that we think are healthy but aren’t. I hope that this article have helped you. The video can be viewed on my Facebook page.
